Just for Kids

Peninsula Community Library is a great place for kids!  Come check out our collection of books, music, movies, games and puppets.  Play with our puppet theater or participate in other activities in our Imagination Station.  We  always have a craft or two out on the tables.  Make something to take home.  Check our events calendar for program details.

Story Stew, our preschool story hour, happens EVERY Thursdays of the month at 10 a.m. On the fourth Thursday, all children attending Story Stew will receive one free book thanks to our collaboration with Born to Read. You can learn more about Born to Read at https://rotaryborntoread.org. When school is out, older kids are welcome as well!

Chapter Chicks, our Mother Daughter Book Club for girls meets every other month on the third Saturday at 9:30 am.  Books are chosen for the discussion value and are geared toward a 3rd-5th grade reading level.  However, girls of all ages are welcome to participate.  There will also be food and a related craft.

Our certified Reading Dog Coco listens to children read on Wednesdays from 9am until noon.  Call for an appointment.

Super Saturday programs are scheduled sporadically to showcase special themes and are fun for the whole family.

PCL is a great place to spend a part of your day!  Caretakers can enjoy a hot beverage from our BookEnds coffee cart, read a magazine or newspaper and watch their children have fun in the library!
